ComicCon and Netflix
We had an amazing time at Comic Con. We got to meet the renowned Jim Butcher, creator of the Dresden Files (Doktor’s Note: Seriously, go read these books! Pure Awesome!), and have dinner with him! Turns out he’s a major gamer, loves to play LARPs with his son, and they are bad-ass! Our screening was about 170 people strong. About a quarter of them raised their hands when asked if they’d never seen a Gamers movie or heard of the Dead Gentlemen. The response was FAN-tastic. The fans were so excited to be able to buy the film soon.
Well guess what folks! I was browsing through my Netflix this morning, and found you can order Dorkness Rising! It has a release date of August 19th on it.
Don’t forget you can preorder the film as well at Anthem Pictures or Paizo.com.
Back to Comic Con. I’d say the highlight of the experience, besides hanging out with Jamie Chambers, Cam Banks, Jim Butcher, and Lindsey Archer, was getting to meet the cast of The Guild. We totally got to be fanboys and picked up their DVD and got it signed by the cast… except from Felicia Day who was super crazy busy with all things Dr. Horrible. Anyone surprised by that? But, you HAVE to go check out The Legend of Neil, a hilarious comedy series created by Sandeep Parikh, aka “Zaboo” from The Guild. Really great stuff!
The cast of The Guild will be at PAX this year, so go and see them! And us! I think. Still trying to sneak in a screening there. Next year, we are so going to be organized! This year, it’s “We’ll be there if we can get away with it”.
