About DG Improv
Founded in the Summer of 2001, the Dead Gentlemen Comedy Improv Troupe has been performing around Western Washington on a regular basis since February 2002. In addition to monthly shows at Northern Pacific Coffee Company, the troupe has played for private functions, emceed 4th of July festivities at Holden Village, headlined a successful fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital, and, most recently, performed in concert with the Seattle Bach Choir. Additionally, DG Improv conceptualized and produced the improvisational feature film Unreality, which featured improv actors from DG Improv, Seattle GoGA, Comedy Alley, the Tokens, and Foolsplay. Unreality is now in post-production and will premiere in 2004.
DG Improv performs both standard and original games, long-form narratives, and a number of unique musical scenes. With a strong emphasis on communication, storytelling, humor, and audience participation, the troupe regularly performs to sold-out crowds. Attendees are advised to arrive at least half-an-hour early to guarantee seats.
Members of DG Improv include Matt Vancil, Nathan Rice, Steve Wolbrecht, Chris Ode, Shawn Franklin, and Dave Wolbrecht, with Ben Dobyns on the piano.
