Welcome one and all to the (at least temporarily) new face of DeadGentlemen.com. Consider this an intermediary step between the crazy outdated site from 2001 when deadgentlemen.com went live, and the upcoming wonder that is currently in the works. As a little sneak preview, the header graphic on this page, designed by Jen Page, is from the new site design. We’ve got all kinds of stuff in the works that should be rolling out in the next few months, including a complete store redesign, and a new site devoted to the Demon Hunters movies.
By the way, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jimmy McMichael, but you’d probably know me better as Herr Doktor in Demon Hunters: Dead Camper Lake. I was the original webmaster for Dead Gentlemen, and the horrible site design you’ve been suffering through for the last four years has been all my fault. I’ve been gone for a while, traveling the globe seeking enlightenment, but I’ve returned from my quest with advanced knowledge of web authoring and basic principles of design, as evidenced by the new site. I can’t promise that everything is going to work right off the bat, but I’ll do my best to squash any bugs that might pop up. Prior to the redesign, the website’s archives didn’t work. Due to my wonderful forward planning, the archives could only retrieve articles posted between January 2000, and December 2001. Since the site only went live in January 2001, the usefulness of this piece of crap was actually halved. With this new design, however, every single news post since the very beginning has been posted. You can travel back in time using the “Previous Entries” link at the bottom of your screen, and see that the site used to actually have updates and humor! In time, an actual Archives page will be created so you can browse to actual dates or topics. The wonders of technology!
Finally, I’d just like to say that it’s great to be back. This site was my pride and joy, and I’ve really missed it. There’s going to be a lot more action on the site now that I’m back, so you’ll probably want to start bookmarking this page instead of skipping straight to the forums. For instance, I’m not the only one coming back. A certain earthwalking demon will be by shortly to dispense his sage wisdom. Stay tuned…
