Featuring...Syphilitic Ninja Vampires!

Listen Up, Recruits…

We’re putting the finishing touches on the Demon Hunters RPG, and it is AWESOME if I do say so myself. No need to take my word for it though, have a look at some sample pages courtesy of Margaret Weis Productions. Up this week, Gabe and R.M.’s character sheets.

1920×1080

It’s a new year for DG, and it promises to be a big one, so it’s time to set some New Year’s Resolutions.

  • Land a kickass distribution deal for “The Gamers: Dorkness Rising” that satisfies our loyal and wonderfully patient fans.
  • Completely redesign the DG website to clear out the last lingering vestiges of 1998.
  • Launch the DG Group Blog in a desperate attempt at more frequent site updates.
  • Cause rioting as hordes of gamers step over each other in a mad rush to be the first to own “Demon Hunters: The Role Playing Game.”
  • Film something. Anything, really. We’re not picky. Personally, I’ve got a stack of Syphillitic Ninja Vampires sketches that I’d like to see get made.*hint hint*
  • Continue to work on and maybe even finish some awesome secret projects that you people don’t even know about yet. Seriously. They’re awesome. Secretly awesome!

So Happy New Year folks! And stick around, 2008 is looking like a good year for us. Except for the riots. Those poor, pasty white bastards!

Happy Halloween!

Don’t get too excited, there’s nothing new to report on the DG front. The Demon Hunters RPG has been pushed back again, so it’s looking like 2008 will be a big year for us. I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Halloween, and encourage anyone awesome enough to dress up as a DG character this year to take way too many pictures and share them with us.

In the spirit of the holiday, I share with you now a macabre tale of eldritch horror. The worlds of H.P. Lovecraft and C.M. Schulz collide in the perennial holiday classic, The Great Old Pumpkin.

Mr. DeMille, We’re Ready for your Closeup

Matt DeMille, DG’s production designer extraordinaire, has put up his demo reel on YouTube. It has some great shots of stuff you probably haven’t seen yet, so we thought we’d show you ourselves. And bear in mind, this is what the guy can do with virtually nothing. Imagine the possibilities if you gave him a budget! In fact, give him a budget! Hire this guy. Unless we need him. Then you can go to hell, we’ve got dibs!

Join the War on Horror

Those of you who managed to make it to GenCon this year might have come home with a little something special — a copy of the Brotherhood of the Celestial Torch Recruitment Manual, a Quickstart Guide to the Demon Hunters RPG. Those lucky few have had the opportunity over the last few weeks to kick the tires on the new game and see how she handles. The response so far has been VERY positive. Turns out the game is as fun to play as it has been to write.

So, jealous yet? Well belay that envying! Sure, you may not be able to buy a dead-tree copy of the Manual anymore, but this is the 21st Century! How are you supposed to hold a book while you’re zipping around in your jetpack? Print is dead! Digital is king, and Digital is cheap! Cheap as in Free!

The Brotherhood of the Celestial Torch Recruitment Manual

(Dead) Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the digital version of the Brotherhood of the Celestial Torch Recruitment Manual, available now for the low, low price of not one god damn cent! Absolutely free! Get out there and spread the gospel of Demon Hunters to basements and rec rooms far and wide! Any questions, comments, or discussion about the game can be posted either in our forums, or the newly active and excellent Demon Hunters RPG section of CortexSystemRPG.org. Our thanks go out to the folks at CS|RPG for their support. Stay tuned for more news on the full game!

In other news, our very own lovely and talented Jen “Blue” Page has joined the team at Gamer Radio Zer0, the new weekly gaming podcast from the folks at Wizards of the Coast. Dead Gentlemen got some fabulous airtime on the most recent episode, including the response to GenCon and the latest of what’s happening over here in DG land.

Check back with Gleemax, Gamer Radio Zer0, and Blue on all the latest concerning D&D 4th Edition and other great stuff in gaming.

Now grab the Manual and go game! For the Brotherhood!
